Canada Post Strike September 2025
Important Notice: Canada Post Strike & Shipping Options
Canada Post has entered a nationwide strike as of September 25, 2025, in opposition to proposed modernization efforts aimed at improving service efficiency and long-term sustainability. While we recognize the importance of fair labor practices, we believe this strike unfairly holds the public and small businesses hostage in defense of working conditions that are already among the most generous in the industry. As a result, parcel delivery services across Canada are once again disrupted.
Shipping Options at Checkout
At checkout, you will see two shipping options:
- Canada Post – If selected, your order will be placed on hold until the strike is resolved. This remains our most cost-effective method, but delivery is currently suspended.
- Purolator – A more reliable alternative during the strike, though shipping rates are higher due to the lack of discounted pricing.
Why We Use Canada Post
Canada Post remains our preferred provider because:
- Coverage: It’s the only carrier serving many rural areas and PO Boxes.
- Security & Handling: Signature-required deliveries and secure returns to local service points help protect high-value and delicate items.
Impact on Small Businesses
As a small business, we operate under very different conditions than large corporations or government entities. We work long hours, manage rising costs, and strive to offer quality service without the extensive benefits enjoyed by postal employees. Strikes in essential services disproportionately affect small businesses and their customers.
Why No Free Shipping?
Shipping in Canada is significantly more expensive than in the U.S. While we subsidize part of the cost, we must remain fair to our retail partners. We do not offer free shipping, but we aim to keep rates as competitive as possible.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at info@blueseventy.ca.
